Teen superstars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla opened up about their recent vacation in Misibis Bay that was closely followed by their fans online.
The rumored couple spoke with reporters Thursday night at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, shortly before their flight to the United States for a concert tour with fellow Star Magic artists Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.
The getaway in Misibis Bay, a luxury resort on Cagraray Island in Albay, marked Bernardo's 19th birthday last March 26. The actress, her family and close friends stayed their for three days.
"Marami kaming ginawa, eh," she said. "May nag-'Amazing Race,' tapos nag-water activities, nag-bonfire, lahat! Sobrang chill lang kami lahat."
Explaining her decision to hold an intimate get-together, over holding a big celebration, Bernardo said: "Para maiba lang, kasi last year formal 'yung birthday ko because of the debut. Gusto ko ngayon, bonding lang ta's kasama ko 'yung mga close friends ko. Iyon 'yung plano."
Several photos of the celebration were posted on Instagram by guests, which included hair stylist John Valle, actors Dominic Roque and Khalil Ramos, and actresses Marlann Flores and Pamu Pamorada.
One photo in particular went viral, as it showed Bernardo resting her head on Padilla's shoulder as they relaxed near a bonfire.
"Masaya lang," Padilla said, "kasi magkakasama 'yung mga kaibigan namin, kasama na si Tita Min (Bernardo's mom), kami lahat magkakasama. Enjoy talaga! Ang dami naming nagawa."
The heartthrob actor also denied rumors that he gave Bernardo a ring worth P500,000 as a gift. Bernardo, laughing, also held up both her hands to show that she had no ring on.
